Some of the highlights were

blog_emawebinar1 "What businesses need are resources that will effectively control changes to the environment without inhibiting business agility"

"there is an ample opportunity for change events to be lost.

Critical information is often lost into what I like to call 'the black hole of change', like when a planned change is introduced, how do you know if it was successful?"

blog_emawebinar3 "how exactly do you bridge the gap between control and agility? Well, you start by ensuring sufficient control is being established in the infrastructure"

In the climax of his talk, he addressed the question of how do you bridge this gap between control and agility.
He presented four essential elements that need to be addressed by the organization to close this gap:

1. Capturing All Changes
- Formal and Informal
- Automated and Manual
- Authorized and Unauthorized
2. Covering the Entire IT Environment
- All layers: applications and underlying infrastructure stack
- Entire lifecycle (testing-staging-production-DR-retirement)
3. Getting to the Right Level of Details
- The parameter level ( where downtime risk is most vulnerable)
4. Overcoming Complexity
- Cut through the noise
- Logical vs. physical
- New technologies (virtualization, cloud)

Evolven's CEO and Co-Founder, Sasha Gilenson, outlined Evolven's innovative approach for change control automation.

blog_emawebinar4 "IT organizations can minimize risk of downtime by controlling planned changes, and by proactively detecting unplanned changes and configuration drift, as early as possible."

The audience was intrigued and raised a number of interesting questions, asking for greater elaboration on Evolven's change & configuration solution's capabilities, and about customizing the Evolven knowledgebase be.

Bill Grant, Evolven's Technical Director, delivered a live demo showing the Evolven solution in action, and how it can quickly provide critical change & configuration information at even a detailed level, allowing IT to narrow in on specific change issues.
